We are a non-profit organization with a mobile surgery program – the first of its kind in the world. More than two decades ago, an operating room was built in the back of a truck where we have since performed an average of 350 surgeries per year in some of the most remote regions of the Ecuadorian Andes, Coast and Amazon.
We treat people who otherwise would not be able to access surgical services safely near their homes, humanizing the medical service, while guaranteeing standards comparable to the best healthcare centers around the world.
Please feel free to contact our friendly staff with any general or medical enquiry.

In 1994, we began our work with a health program called Mobile Surgery. An operating room was built in the back of a truck, where we perform surgical interventions in the most remote parts of the country and in the outer slums of cities, with an average of 350 surgeries per year, in a more humane way within the patients’ own environment.
We have also carried out several family health programs with a focus on nutrition, maternal and child care, vaccination, among others, with great results in the community, etc. Over the course of the years, we have seen that surgery, which is our main activity, serves as a gateway to communities. It’s immediate, concrete and often spectacular results serve as an excellent means for gaining credibility, trust and acceptance from locals so we can carry out other beneficial health programs and ensure their success.
Health cannot be treated in isolation because it is linked to all human activities and needs, and health programs cannot be successful if they are carried out in isolation from other development programs. This premise has led the Cinterandes Foundation to plan and lead programs for human development.

With your help we can perform surgeries that benefit low-income patients in Ecuador. You can donate from $1 dollar-from anywhere in the world-and be part of this cause.
Our program for foreign medical students provides the opportunity to observe a variety of clinical situations and health problems present in developing countries. You also have the opportunity to experience a new culture and receive tutelage from excellent professionals, guided by the principle of humanitarian service, as well as respect, love for others and teamwork.
Cinterandes Foundation annually receives foreign students from the United States, Canada, Australia, Israel, New Zealand, Europe and other Latin American countries. It is very important to us that our students see medicine as a profession of service to others.
